ABOUT THE AURORA AWARDS The Aurora Awards is an international competition designed to recognize excellence in the film and video industries. By focusing on non-national commercials, regional or special interest entertainment, corporate sponsored film and video, the Aurora Awards specifically reviews independent programs and commercials that would not normally have the opportunity to compete on a national level with widespread viewing.

JUDGING The judging panels are chaired by working film and video professionals, who are previous Aurora Award winners, from virtually every state across the U.S.A. Programs are judged on a fixed scale in areas of creativity, message effectiveness and technical excellence. This provides a score on an absolute scale to determine if the program is award worthy. Using this method there could be several winners in one category or none at all. Recognition by the Aurora Awards is receiving the best endorsement of the professional media production community–who know what it takes to create outstanding media.

THE AURORA AWARD Winners are awarded a “Platinum Best of Show” or a “Gold Award”. The Best of Show is the highest honor given. Overall, on average one in ten receive this honor, and about one out of ten receive the Gold Award.
